Trump Time, Swing Time!
I guess we will learn about this market period like the Trump Era
The markets will divide in the future for 2 periods – Before Trump and After Trump. I am not alone with a similar opinion – New York Times, Bloomberg, Yahoo Finance, Politico just to name few who comment the same. Markets could be hit anytime by the adverse tweet declaring one-sided act and with an immediate effect counted in days.
Systematic traders are facing new challenges in these times
Markets are driven by the phenomenon unknown before, with a load of uncertainty – what´s next and what effect the trade war could trigger. Automated systems are based also on the specific patterns in the markets, which are repeated over and over during the decades.
The huge number of automated systems in the industry, thousands of whole hedge funds too, were hit by the long-lasting odd situation in markets. Some of the Petronel Systems were affected as well, the performance of several systems is below their usual returns.
